We have started exercising

September 14, 2026 at 10:00 am

At the beginning of September, we started a table tennis training programme for people with Parkinson’s disease at **NTK Škofije**.

Training sessions are held at two locations:
- Škofije (Mondays and Thursdays, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.) → 9 participants
- Postojna (Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.) → 7 participants

Before starting the programme, all participants underwent assessments of their motor and cognitive abilities.

The research team involved in the BrainSpin project will repeat the same assessments after 3 and 6 months of training. This will enable the researchers to study the effects of table tennis training on the limitations and difficulties associated with Parkinson’s disease.

We recommend reading or listening to the interesting article “One Ball, Two Paddles, Multiple Benefits for the Brain”, written by the head of the BrainSpin project, Prof. Dr. Uroš Marušič.  Ena žogica, dva loparja...

We have also started training sessions in Postojna: Table tennis in the Slovenian Littoral – we have started regular training sessions
